History
Goys Cottage and the tearoom were formally one property and were originally built around 1861. We believe the original owners of the property were the Goy family who used the premises for their tea merchant business and lived at number 14 front street.
The Goy family owned the premises for a substantial period of the buildings life, but was later owned by the glovers when it became a spar shop and converted to a tearoom in the last 30 years. The Glovers lived in accommodation above the tea room which now forms our 1940s themed tea area and bedrooms for the holiday cottage. The two properties are now stand alone.
